Feed the Children
by: Jack C.
My piece of artwork is called Feed The Children. I used some pictures and rice to make my hexagon look nice and to get across the message of many starving children around the world. The pictures show a couple of the many children that suffer from being extremely hungry and not being able to eat much at all. They also show the continent of Africa which is where a lot of the hunger occurs. The rice that borders the hexagon represents the food that they could be eating if we stepped up and tried to help them just a little bit. Just a little help could mean a lot to a starving kid in Africa.
The issue of child hunger is a very serious one. 15 million children die of hunger each year and every 5.6 seconds someone dies of hunger also. Although the issue still exists, many people around the world are working hard to stop it. People and schools are raising money to send food over to them, charities have been created, and even ads on t.v have been shown just to get people’s attention and support. The issue of child hunger is important to me because those kids are human beings just like us. They are very less fortunate than us, so we should give back a little to them because it would make their lives that much better. No one deserves to suffer.
Lastly, I showed some of the many disgusting and just outright terrible images in my work of art. This should motivate people to help these kids and get them healthy like they should be. And the rice symbolizes what will heal them and help them to be normal kids. So feed the children!
