Homelessness is a worldwide issue. However, homeless people tend to be found more often in cities. About 13 percent of Americans live in poverty, and almost 60 percent of us will spend at least one year in poverty. It has been predicted that more than 1.3 million children will be homeless this year. Some generous organizations around the world are working to try and end this terrible issue. Some of these are soup kitchens and the Chicago Coalition for the homeless, or the CCH. Homelessness is causing terrors such as starving to death, freezing to death, discomfort and poor sanitation. I chose to represent homelessness with this picture comparison of a man sitting peacefully in a warm, brightly colored house, next to a man curled up in an alleyway struggling to keep warm, all black and white and unhappy. I feel that it captures the huge difference between peoples' lives in America, and I know that we have to do something to stop it.

I like the contrast you showed between the two people, it really helped to show me how bad things are for homeless people.

I liked the contrast of colors you used, one side being warm and happy, while the other was dark, black, and cold -looking. I also liked how the illustrations were simple, yet they did a great job of showing your topic.

You're an amazing artist. I liked how you showed a person who is homeless and a person who isn't. It really shows how having a place to stay can really help someone.

You are just an amazing artist. I loved how you showed before he was homeless and him out on the streets. I loved the brightcolors but the contrast with the black.

I love how you have half of the hexagon showing a person that is homeless and the other half that shows someone who isn't. Good job!
