"Hunger"
Katelyn B.
This hexagon is about world hunger, especially among children. There are 925 million people in the world who don’t have enough food, and that is mostly in developing countries. One out of every four children in developing countries are underweight. In my hexagon, I wanted to show the progress that has been made with world hunger, so I used positive pictures of children receiving food. I have volunteered many times through Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization that sends meals to kids all over the world, so this issue is very important to me.
I used images from the internet to make my collage. I raised up the boy with the plate because i thought that picture did a good job of showing how hungry the kids are, but still had positive and vibrant colors in it. I used this quote from Mother Teresa, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one,” because I think it shows how even helping just one person can make a big difference.
