“Enough is Enough... Stop Child Labor”

Over 250 million children are affected by child labor. That means 250 million children are in factories working every day, instead of outside, living the lives they should. They should be playing in playgrounds and playing hopscotch. Instead, they are inside, working with dangerous machines. That is not right. Children as young as 8 years old are working in factories.
I have always wanted to find a way to stop child labor. It doesn’t seem right at all. The young childrens’ lives are being taken away from them and they don’t even know it. Their lives are put in danger every time they step foot in a factory. They live to work. They get up, go to work, come home, and sleep. The next day, they do that all over again. That sounds like an adult’s life, not a child’s life. When I am older, I hope I can somehow find a way to get those children out of factories, and on playgrounds where they should be.
The media I used was markers and a black flare. On my hexagon, I put a lot of words and sayings. First, I put “ Enough is Enough. Stop child labor” in red. This saying expresses a lot. Child Labor happened in the early 1900’s and it is still happening now. “Enough is Enough” is saying that children have been working for too long. It is time for them to stop and live the life they should. I put it in red because your eye draws attention to that. It is in the middle and the only bright color. Since hexagons have 6 sides, along 3 of the sides, I put the word “Stop”, over and over. By doing that, I express the need for child labor to stop. Although I put the words in black, it still shows the need for it to stop. Next, along the other 3 sides of the hexagon, I put gray children hands. The hands represent the working hands of children. They show the need for help and assistance. Only skilled people should be performing the machines the children use. Eight year-olds are using machines I wouldn’t even use. Next, I put “effects over 250 million children” towards the top. Two hundred and fifty million children are a lot. That is way too many to be affected by child labor. Lastly, I put sayings like “needs to stop” and “no more” in the white areas. These sayings express that, once again, child labor needs to stop.

Good job. I liked how you were straight forward with your point about what needs to be done about Child Labor.

I really like how you bordered the edges of your hexagon with little hands. I thought that was very cute and creative!

The text you used is very powerful. You did an excellent job explaining how serious this issue is.
