Pangea
Even though racism and sexism may seem like a thing of the past to some, to me it is very much still alive. Everyday I hear comments about these topics and it makes me think about how such a little comment to one person may mean the world to another. Some of these comments can hurt many people, and we only say them because we compare others and their differences to ourselves rather than our similarities. We must all learn to accept other for their differences and our similarities. If we do, we can eventually all come together to help solve larger world problems as a whole and show a more positive outcome in other great achievements.
In my artwork I drew a picture of Pangea. Pangea is a prehistoric landmass that existed millions of years ago. However, now it is a symbol of unity and being a whole and that in one way or another, we are all connected. I used colored and regular number two pencils, black sharpie markers, and white poster paint markers in my artwork to help portray this.
