In my drawing I used colored pencils, markers, and pen and ink. I used these utensils because for the colored pencil I can lightly shade or color in some outside pictures. For the markers I outlined big parts to stand out and for the child in my picture, I used pen and ink to make the sketch effect on the sheet of paper. I chose this media to show that some kids don’t even have a single pencil to draw or to write in school.
This lack of children education problem is most prevalent in a country called, Nigeria in Africa. Around 7.5 percent of the world’s children are out of school. Children should be able to learn and be able to get an education. Children can grow and be successful for the future. Luckily, global initiatives are being done to address this issue. Unicef, and The Commonwealth Education Fund are currently helping. Unicef and The Commonwealth Education collect money in the simplest ways to end countries lacking education. They send pencils and supplies for schools to use. The little things we take advantage for, some countries don’t even have.
In my picture I put supplies that are used in need at schools. With the supplies they can use them to learn, write and express their ways of learning. I also put the alphabet. Learning simple things first could make a big change to a child’s life. Everyone deserves to have the choice of learning and to start off there future positively.
