In 2010, nine hundred twenty-five million people were starving around the world. Every day children and adults are under fed and starving to death. This is happening in developed countries, near east and north Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.
As you can see, starvation is in many places of the world. The problem of starvation has been opened to the public eye and many groups are doing projects to solve the problem of starvation. For example, Tackle Hunger is collecting one million pounds of food for starving people around the world. Also, Action Against Hunger has teamed up with schools to have students walk one mile and donate food to stop starvation around the world. As more people learn about starvation and how bad it is, more people are helping out to stop starvation.
People need to see that we are all similar and share common experiences. We need to be able to link issues that are personal and local with issues that are global. That shows that we all need to be looking out for one another. There are kitchens at churches for starving and homeless people. People need to take that and transfer it it to all the starving people around the world.
To create my project, I used google images. I searched google images for starving people. I did this to show how sad it is to see all the starving people around the world. I took a bunch of the pictures I found and glued them on my hexagon to make a collage. It finish my hexagon off, I glued a stop sign in the middle of my pictures because we need to stop starvation.
